How to adjust session settings on Glossika
Glossika gives users quite a bit of control over how they interact with our audio. To customize your audio playback settings:
Session settings can be accessed from within a training session. Simply:
1. From your "Overview" page, click either "Learn new Items" or "Review"
2. From within a training session, click the "settings" icon located in the top-right corner of your screen
3. A settings tab will open up from the right side of your screen, letting you adjust things like:
Interval:
the size of the pause between the audio clips
short = the minimum time interval, longer = the maximum time interval
Speed:
0.5x = slow-mo audio, 1.25x=sped up audio
Repeat:
Whether the target audio clip plays once or twice
Recording:
Whether Glossika prompts you to record your own voice
Note: Glossika separates new items from review items, and your settings are unique to each set of items. We think this separation of settings is important because we, as learners, approach new and old content differently. (Perhaps, for example, you would like the audio for old content to play at one speed and the audio for new content to play at another.) If you wish to have universal settings, you will have to make changes to both sets of settings.
4. While within a session, click the "triple-dot" icon to access your session settings
5. From here, you can adjust various settings, such as:
Guide and tips
New sentences (while in ''Learn New Items'' mode)
Report this sentence
Adjust the speed at which audio plays
Note:
Any changes you make to your "learn new items" session settings will not affect your "review" session settings. This distinction makes it possible to, for example, have the audio of new items play more slowly and the audio of review items play more quickly. If you'd like to have the same settings for both "learn new items" and "review" sessions, you'll have to adjust both sets of settings.
